About this Collection

My abstract paintings emerge from an intuitive and experimental process—often making it difficult to put into words, or even understand, what they are about. While many things inspire me, my work is less about a single subject or idea and more about a feeling: the experience of being fully present, free from judgment, and immersed in a moment of exploration.

Before beginning this series, I spent time reflecting on the life experiences that spark this feeling in me. I thought about the joy of playing the fiddle and listening to traditional Irish and folk music, as well as the quiet awe of exploring remote natural landscapes. The rocky coast of Maine and the Burren in Western Ireland, in particular, hold a lasting influence. These places, removed from the constant noise of society, offer me both exhilaration and deep calm—states I also experience while making art.

Guided by the emotions and memories these places evoke and accompanied by my playlist of lively and soulful Irish tunes, I created this series of abstract landscapes. These paintings don’t depict specific scenes, instead they blend the essence of many places I feel connected to with my exploratory approach to painting. The result is a visual language shaped by intuition, emotion, and a deep connection to the natural world.

My hope is that these paintings conjure a place or a state of mind where you feel at peace—that they invite you into a quiet mental space, where you too can feel inspired, present, and free to explore.
